Spanish Oaks Golf Club: Bobby Weed's Hill Country valley course in Bee Cave

October 12, 2026Bailey Kemps Nelson Group

A private Discovery Land Company community in Bee Cave, Spanish Oaks plays a Bobby Weed course routed through limestone valleys, with homes set above it.

Spanish Oaks is a private residential golf community in Bee Cave, developed by Discovery Land Company beginning in 2001. Its course is the centerpiece: a Bobby Weed design routed through the valleys of the Hill Country, with homes set on the ridges above.

The course

Bobby Weed designed the 18-hole course, which plays to par 71 and just over 7,000 yards from the back tees, with a slope of 149. The routing follows the land: elevation changes, limestone outcrops and native vegetation frame the holes, and the course is irrigated with reclaimed and potable water, per Bobby Weed Golf Design.

The course has drawn recognition from the start: Golf Digest named it one of the best new private clubs of 2003, Golf Inc. named Spanish Oaks its 2004 Development of the Year, and Golfweek ranked it among the best private courses in Texas in 2021.

Weed’s firm returned in 2021 to improve the practice areas, and the ASGCA has described further work on the bunkers, practice greens, an academy building and new championship tees.

The community

Spanish Oaks is a gated development of roughly 900 acres within a larger mixed-use plan, with about 485 homes, per Community Impact. Beyond golf, residents have preserve land, hike and bike trails, a lake and a fish camp with a dock. The community is served by Lake Travis ISD.

The club does not publish membership terms or fees.
