Lost Creek Country Club reopened as Westlake Country Club in 2023 after a major renovation, with a reworked course along Barton Creek, new practice areas and expanded amenities.
For decades it was Lost Creek Country Club. In 2023, after the largest renovation in its owner’s history, the club reopened as Westlake Country Club, per Community Impact. Its new crowned “W” logo nods to Austin’s nickname, the City of the Violet Crown.
The renovation
The multiphase project began in 2022, with World Golf Hall of Fame member Lanny Wadkins as design consultant. The greens and bunkers were redesigned, drivable par 4s were added, the course was regrassed with Champion G12 greens and TifTuff turf, and new irrigation went in. The driving range was lengthened, and a short practice course and learning center were added. Course work finished in November 2023, per The Golf Wire.
The course sits on low ground beside Barton Creek, with tree-lined fairways and creeks in play on many holes.
The club
Westlake Country Club is private, owned and operated by Invited. The renovation also brought new pickleball courts, an expanded fitness facility, pools, a bar and restaurant, a sports club area, and programs for kids and teens. Membership includes an optional add-on for access to Invited’s network of clubs. Fees are not published.
The neighborhood
The club is surrounded by the Lost Creek neighborhood in the 78746 ZIP code, where homes from the 1970s and 1980s, renovations and rebuilds sit on lots from about a quarter acre to more than an acre, many backing to the course or greenbelt. Lost Creek is served by Eanes ISD.
